Sorry / JIT God

Having started this blog as a journal of what’s going on in my life along the journey of planting a church, I have to apologize to the me of some later date (sort of like a time capsule) for not recording anything in a while. It’s 2:30 AM and I can’t sleep for the excitement of getting to start a new church for the sake of Jesus Christ.
Last week I only had about 3 days after we returned home from our mammoth East Coast swing. My prayer leading up to and through the whole week was that God would provide 2 people for us by the end of the week: 1) a worship leader – at least for our first monthly service on May 20, and 2) a children’s ministry director at least through our launch on September 16.Â
Well, true to form, He did both in fine fashion. David Christopher (of Faithbridge Community Church in McKees Rocks, PA) will be leading worship for us on May 20. He and his wife and daughter came over Saturday night and we shared a meal and did some brainstorming. It is going to be an awesome service.
On Friday of last week Amber and I had lunch with Audrey Yelen (of Fusion  - a church revolution beginning soon in Washington, PA). She has agreed to lead our Children’s Ministry through our launch Sunday. We’re getting together again this Friday with Audrey and Jennifer Cogley (who’ll be serving as our children’s ministry consultant/idea person) to hammer out the final details of what Iron City Kids will look like and how we’ll be set up.
It shouldn’t surprise me, but I’m amazed all over again by God’s JIT (Just In Time) faithfulness!
